Do I need Planning Center to use Butter?
No. You can import a file or add people by hand. Planning Center just means you never do either again.
Can Planning Center send a church newsletter on its own?
Planning Center People can email a list and save templates for messages you send often. For anything over 500 people or with more design, its help center points you to the Mailchimp integration. Butter is the third option: a newsletter built straight from your People lists and your events. All the options, compared.
How do I send a newsletter to a Planning Center list?
Connect Planning Center and turn on People sync. Every list in People shows up in Butter as an audience. Build the newsletter, pick one list or several, and send. Butter checks Planning Center for changes about every hour, and Sync now is there for the minute before you send.

Does Butter change anything in Planning Center?
No. Butter only reads from Planning Center. Nothing is ever written back, and unsubscribes are kept in Butter.
